JONAI, Aug 13: The Indian Army organised an Organ Donation Awareness Drive at Jonai Girls’ College on Wednesday to mark World Organ Donation Day, under the theme “Angdaan – Jeevan Sanjeevani Abhiyaan.”
According to an official statement, the event was attended by over 800 students and faculty members from Jonai in Assam and neighbouring border districts of East Siang in Arunachal Pradesh.
It featured an awareness lecture on the importance, process, and ethical aspects of organ donation, followed by a poster-making contest to creatively promote the life-saving message of organ donation.
The Principal of Jonai Girls’ College praised the participants, describing organ donation as a “selfless gift that can give someone a second chance at life,” and urged students to spread awareness in their communities.
The programme concluded with the distribution of prizes for the poster-making contest, which reflected the youth’s creativity and commitment to building a healthier society, followed by a vote of thanks to participants and organisers.
