DIBRUGARH, Nov 26: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Assam unit, marked its 12th foundation day by launching a village yatra in upper Assam’s Dibrugarh to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. The initiative includes a motorcycle rally that started from the Old High School field in Dibrugarh, with the participation of over a hundred AAP supporters. The rally was flagged off by AAP national council member and in-charge of AAP Northeast, Rajesh Sharma.
Rajesh Sharma, speaking to reporters, emphasized the party’s goal of building a strong organization at the village level. He highlighted the importance of strengthening the party at the booth level to win elections. The village yatra aims to popularize the AAP at the grassroots and connect with people to understand their problems.
Manoj Dhanowar, an AAP leader in Dibrugarh, mentioned that the village yatra would last for a month, covering every village in the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency. The objective is to understand the concerns of the people and build a robust party structure. Dhanowar stated that the AAP has 35,000 members in the Dibrugarh constituency under his leadership.
Looking ahead to the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Dhanowar expressed the party’s intent to demand five seats in Assam. He highlighted that the AAP is part of the India Alliance and will collaborate to contest against the BJP in the upcoming elections.
