NAGAON, Feb 8: In line with the ongoing agitation across the state, the Nagaon District Unit of the All Assam District Administration Employees Union staged a non-cooperation agitation to press for various demands, including separate grade pay and the implementation of the old pension scheme in place of the National Pension System (NPS).
Over two hundred employees of the district administration actively participated in the agitation, joining their counterparts from across the state in their struggle.
The district unit announced that they would continue the non-cooperation agitation on Friday as well.
Expressing regret, the district unit highlighted that despite staging a series of protests in the last part of the previous year as per the decision of its central leadership, the state government did not pay heed to their demonstrations.
It’s noteworthy that all employees of the district administration on Thursday abstained from their official duties and actively participated in the agitation, underscoring the seriousness of their demands.
