BISWANATH CHARIALI, Jan 5: The Annual Prize Distribution and Sports Week of Gyan Bharati Public School, Sootea concluded on Thursday. The week-long program, which commenced on December 27, 2023, with a vibrant march-past and flag hoisting ceremony, was inaugurated by Atul Chandra Borah, principal, and Rajib Boruah, secretary, respectively.
Throughout the school week, various sports competitions such as high jumps, long jumps, 100 and 200 meters races, 400 meters relay race, discus throw, needle race, and kabaddi were held. Padma Hazarika, MLA of Naduar Legislative Constituency, graced the occasion and commended the school’s initiatives. He emphasised the importance of fostering strong relationships among koka (grandfather), aaita (grandmother), and nati (grandkids) to build a robust human resource foundation.

The prize distribution and open house session, accompanied by cultural programs, took place on Thursday with Jiban Sharma presiding over the event. Dr Chinta Moni Sharma, principal of Biswanath College, attended as the distinguished speaker. The session also saw the presence of Gopal Krishna Goswami, Paresh Borkakoti, Md Nurul Islam, Dr Parag Hazarika, Bishnu Baruah, Naren Borah, Ramen Borah, Mikul Kalita, among others.
Students from Nursery to class 10 presented colorful cultural programs that captivated the audience. The principal’s reports covered every aspect of the school’s activities. The ‘Sankardev’ house was awarded the ‘Best Overall Performing House’ of the year.
