Anti-Drug Awareness Programme

DIPHU: Klirdap Welfare Society (KWS), in collaboration with the State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council of Assam, organised a significant anti-drug awareness initiative targeting school children. The event took place at Binapani High School and Chandra Sing Teron High School, drawing the participation of more than 100 students from the respective institutions.

Vice chairman of the State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council, Assam, Jitu Borgohain, delivered a compelling presentation during the event. He elucidated the various forms of drugs and shed light on the detrimental effects of their consumption. Borgohain earnestly advised the students to steer clear of drugs, emphasising the potential mental and physical ruin they bring. The speaker emphasised that the influence of narcotics can hinder their academic pursuits and eventually lead to the deterioration of their lives.

The two-hour awareness program also saw the presence of key figures from KWS, including president Dorsing Engti, general secretary Ajay Timung, assistant secretary Pitorson Rongphar, and other esteemed guests. The collaborative effort between KWS and the State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council aims to proactively combat the threat of drug abuse among the youth, fostering a safer and healthier community.
