GUWAHATI, June 10: Arunachal Pradesh is preparing to host the much-anticipated Civil 20 (C20) India 2023 Conclave on ‘Diversity, Inclusion, and Mutual Respect’ in Namsai on June 10-11.
The event, which will be conducted by the Vivekananda Kendra in Kanyakumari in partnership with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, is expected to draw around 150 attendees from various regions of India and 23 nations globally.
The C20 Conclave, as an important event during India’s G20 Presidency, intends to encourage substantial discourse and participation among civil society organisations (CSOs), policymakers, and other governmental and non-governmental entities.
The C20 Namsai conclave will provide a forum for in-depth talks on the prospects for global unification in a world of cultural, social, and economic variety. According to an official press release issued on Friday, India’s rich civilizational legacy has always underlined the beauty of variety and the spirit of oneness.
“As we celebrate the completion of nine years of service, good governance and welfare of the poor under the exceptional leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is on a mission to bring about a shared global future for all,” he said.
Maintaining that Arunachal Pradesh has grown by leaps and bounds over the last few years, Khandu said the “unparalleled progress” of the state was the credit of the civil society organisations.
“In Arunachal Pradesh, our engagement with civil society organisations takes a unique form through the active involvement of community-based organizations (CBOs). Each year, as the state budget is prepared, we ensure that the voices of these CBOs are not only heard but embraced with utmost respect and consideration,” he said.
Khandu said the state government held an interactive session with the CBOs on April 12, which led to the signing of a 21-point vision document.
“In a historic meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with members of the CBOs, which ignited a renewed passion and deepened our collective resolve to steer Arunachal Pradesh as the growth engine,” he added.
India’s demand for world peace and sustainable development, based on the ancient Vedic philosophy notion of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (One Earth, One Family, One Future), is of tremendous importance in today’s globe. As a result, India is increasingly seen as a source of future harmony on the world arena. The G20 presidency of India gives an excellent chance to highlight the country’s human potential and cultural power as a great civilization, the release stated.
The conclave’s inaugural ceremony, scheduled for June 10, will be attended by chief minister Pema Khandu, state legislative assembly speaker P D Sona, Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF) chairman S Gurumurthy, Sherpa of C20 India 2023, Ambassador Vijay K Nambiar, High Commissioner of the Jamaican High Commission Jason K M Hall, and Venezuela Embassy counsellor Alfredo Caldera, among others. On June 11, deputy chief minister Chowna Mein will deliver a speech. Village excursions to chosen locations will be made to further enrich the conclave’s vision and experience its topic, and a big meditation and prayer activity is being planned for the Golden Pagoda.
