Guwahati, Feb 7: Amidst the heightened security for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Guwahati, a government vehicle was stolen.
The vehicle, a Mahindra Bolero, registered under AS 01 DH 8222, belonged to an additional district commissioner (ADC), Vikram Chasa. The theft occurred near Koinadhora, where the Prime Minister was staying.
The incident has drawn criticism from all sections, given it happened despite the increased security measures.
The owner of the car, Matiur Rahman, filed a complaint at Dispur Police Station. However, despite continuous investigation under case number 96/2024, the police have not yet located the stolen vehicle, four days after the incident.
