Assam DGP inaugurated 9th All India Police Judo Cluster in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, June 25: Director General of Police, Assam, GP Singh on Monday inaugurated the 9th All India Police Judo Cluster at the Karmabeer Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium in Sarusojai.

The inaugural ceremony was marked by a vibrant and celebratory ambiance, graced by the attendance of DG Home Guards and Special DGP (HQ) Harmeet Singh, alongside esteemed guests, distinguished sports figures, senior civilian and police officials, school students, and the participating athletes.

Harmeet Singh commenced the event with a warm welcome and set a vibrant atmosphere for the entire ceremony.

IGP Partha Sarathi Mahanta concluded the event by expressing his appreciation to all those who contributed to its success.

DGP Singh praised the athletes for their commitment in his speech and urged them to appreciate the rainy weather and picturesque landscapes of Assam.

Additionally, the DGP revealed the event’s symbolic mascot, Lute, representing strength and unity.

At the opening ceremony, team captains took an oath emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and integrity.

An enthralling Bihu performance mesmerized the spectators and honored the diverse cultural legacy of Assam, enhancing the cultural atmosphere of the event.

The commencement signifies the start of an anticipated week of martial arts prowess, fostering unity and fair play among law enforcement officers from all over India.

The sporting event spans over a week, scheduled from June 24 and ending on June 30.

The event is set to feature five martial arts disciplines: Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, Wushu, and Pencak Silat. Competitors will engage in friendly rivalry, demonstrating their remarkable abilities and talents.
