Guwahati, Sept 5: Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria inaugurated the PG Courses at the Birangana Sati Sadhani Rajyik Vishwavidyalaya in Golaghat on Tuesday and termed that the university’s decision to introduce postgraduate courses on the auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day as truly noble.
Speaking on the occasion, “The University’s name pays homage to one of the most celebrated queens in the history of Assam, Sati Sadhini. Her unwavering bravery and sacrificial spirit is an example as to what a woman can do while defending her territory country and safeguarding the honor. The university will provide a unique opportunity to educate future generations about Sati Sadhini and her rich contribution.”
The Governor also threw lights on India’s rich legacy where teachers play a crucial role in shaping the humanity and earning admiration worldwide. He referred to the luminaries like Baisistha, Chanakya, Dayanand Saraswati, APJ Abdul Kalam etc who left an indelible mark in the rich tapestry of Indian knowledge.
