The deceased, identified as Sujitha Kashyap, held a esteemed position and had been serving as an ‘Assistant Professor’ at the Rahman Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences in the city.

Originally hailing from Pathsala in the Bajali district of Assam, Kashyap’s premature passing has left her colleagues and students utterly stunned. Following the discovery of her lifeless body, authorities summoned the district magistrate and Basistha police to the scene.

Subsequently, the body was transported to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for autopsy procedures. The circumstances surrounding Kashyap’s demise are veiled in uncertainty, with her family harboring suspicions of a tragic culmination stemming from an alleged romantic entanglement.

In a poignant statement provided to the media, Kashyap’s mother divulged, ‘She was a regular individual, nothing seemed out of the ordinary until she entered into a relationship with a young man from Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh.’
