Guwahati, Nov 16: The Special Task Force (STF) Assam on Thursday apprehended two recurring women drug peddlers and recovered approximately 43 vials of suspected Heroin weighing 54.5 Grams.
The STF Assam also seized Cash Rs.5,680 and one mobile handset from the suspects. The operation was conducted near the Khanapara bus stand, under the jurisdiction of the Dispur Police Station.

The detainees were identified as Sunita Basumatary alias Angel, 19, daughter of Lt. Rubi Basumatary from Saukuchi, and Pranita Das, 45, wife of Lt. Nipun Das from Deba Nagar. Legal proceedings are underway.
In a separate anti-drug operation by Karbi Anglong police, a vehicle was intercepted and 130 soap cases containing 1.652 kg of suspected heroin were discovered in a hidden compartment. Two individuals from a neighbouring state were detained.
