Digboi, May 11: The All Assam Tea Tribes Student Association (ATTSA) staged a two-hour road blockade on National Highway 38 on Friday, demanding the arrest of the culprits implicated in the alleged sexual assault of a young girl from the tea tribe community.
The incident reportedly occurred after a Bihu function in the Borjan locality under the jurisdiction of the Digboi police station.

The victim lodged a police complaint on May 8, 2024, alleging she was sexually assaulted by Ravi Saikia and Munna Bhumij on April 21, 2024, after being coerced into consuming alcohol.
The victim’s statement detailed the assault and expressed her demand for justice. It was also reported that despite threats from the implicated individuals, the victim and her family were encouraged by locals to file the police complaint.
