DIPHU, Oct 27: The Department of Telecom, Government of India, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in New Delhi, has scheduled a test of the Cell Broadcasting Alert System for October 30, 2023. This test aims to assess the system’s effectiveness in delivering emergency alerts, including warnings about events such as earthquakes, flash floods, regular floods, severe weather conditions, and more, all for the purpose of public safety.
During the testing period on October 30, the public may receive alert messages on their mobile devices throughout the state. It’s important to note that these alerts do not indicate an actual emergency but are part of a planned testing process.
