CEM Pramod Boro attends Agniveer pre-recruitment programme

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 9: With the aim of enlightening the youth about the Agnipath scheme of the country, the Indian Army conducted an Agniveer Recruitment Training program in different districts of Bodoland Territorial Region on Friday, where thousands of youths from different areas participated. In Kokrajhar, the program was held at the Commerce College auditorium, organised by Titaguri Army Camp of the 135th Battalion of the territorial army (eco-task force) to create awareness on pre-selection awareness-cum-counseling among citizens.

The program is a key part of a broader initiative, fulfilling Clause 10.2 in the historic BTR Peace Accord of 2020 (Bodoland Territorial Region). Pramod Boro, the chief executive member (CEM) of Bodoland Territorial Region, graced the event as the chief guest, emphasising its significance in guiding and empowering youth towards fulfilling and rewarding careers in the defense sector.

CEM Boro stated that the BTR Government has initiated the pre-recruitment program for Agniveer across the Bodoland region under the spirit of the BTR Peace Accord of 2020. He mentioned that the Indian Army is regarded as a shield of strength as well as a beacon of valour.

The program was also held at Tangla College in Udalguri and Tamulpur HS School, where discussions were held thoroughly over the pre-recruitment of Agniveer. Among others, MCLAs Madhab Chandra Chetry, Hemanta Kr Rabha, Pabitra Kr Boro, Sanjoy Swargiary, Col Gaurav Negi (135 Infantry TA), Lt Col Vijay Fredrick & Lt Col Gaurav (29 Punjab) were prominent attendees.
