CEM Pramod Boro lays foundation of 41 projects in BTR

KOKRAJHAR, March 5: Reiterating government of Bodoland Territorial Region’s (BTR) commitment for creating a peaceful, green and smart Bodoland, the chief executive member (CEM) of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro dedicated several crucial development initiatives for the people of the Bodoland region at various places in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday.

CEM Boro dedicated 26 schemes to the people of Bodoland region, and laid the foundation stones for 41 projects under various departments of Bodoland Territorial Region including PWD (roads), PWD (building), water resources and education departments.

He laid the foundation stone for the construction of model secondary schools in tea garden areas at the Doloabari Tea Garden in Kokrajhar to facilitate development of the educational environment amongst the citizens.

The initiative has been significantly aimed at enhancing the educational infrastructure, providing quality education and fostering development in the tea garden areas.

Under the mission to provide ensure holistic, inclusive and quality education for the children of BTR, the CEM laid the foundation stones for construction of the Dotma Girls’ High School and eight secondary and higher secondary schools under NESIDS, RIDF and Samagra Shiksha Scheme in Kokrajhar.

Boro also distributed farm tools and equipment under PMAAGY to the beneficiaries of four self-help groups under Kokrajhar and Dotma development blocks in Kokrajhar under the agriculture department. He also flagged of three ambulances provided from by the health department of BTR with an amount of ₹ 51 lakhs.

Boro said that the BTR government has committed to work for all round development of the Bodoland region and render services for ushering welfare and well-being of the society.

“Today, we took a giant stride forward in our mission of building a developed Bodoland Territorial Region. Our Government remains committed towards realising the mission of a peaceful, green and smart Bodoland”, Boro said.

On a question about the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Boro, who is also the president of UPPL, said that the UPPL party is fully prepared to participate in the parliamentary elections under the banner of NDA and is hopeful that the NDA alliance will secure majority of the seats across the country.

He said that NDA alliance is winning majority seats across the state of the state including Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat in the ensuing parliamentary elections.

He informed that there is no strong base of opposition parties in the state. CEM Boro was accompanied by BTR executive member Reoreoa Narzihary, MLA Lawrence Islary, several dignitaries during the event.
