BISWANATH CHARIALI, May 19: The general meeting of the Chatia College Alumni Association convened in the conference hall of the college on Saturday, under the leadership of Dilip Upadhyaya, the vice president of the alumni association. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of a lamp, followed by a warm welcome address by Dr Swapan Kalita, the college principal. Dr Dipen Bharali, the convenor cum assistant professor of the college, elucidated the objectives of the association and presented the annual report.
During the meeting, Biraj Hatibaruah shared valuable insights, enriching the discussions. Additionally, eight esteemed alumni were honoured with life membership certificates, acknowledging their longstanding connection and contributions to the alma mater. The newly constituted body of the alumni association, with Narayan Hazarika as president, Chandan Bora as secretary cum convenor, and 34 executive members, was announced at the conclusion of the meeting.
