GUWAHATI, July 12: The department of Political Science at Chhaygaon College organised an alumni meet on Tuesday, bringing together former students to reconnect and celebrate their shared experiences.

The event, held in the college classroom, commenced with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp and an inaugural speech by Dr Naba Kalita, the principal of Chhaygaon College. The alumni were treated to a diverse range of cultural performances by current students, adding a vibrant touch to the gathering.
Distinguished individuals in attendance included Dr Mrinal Kumar Bora, registrar of Srimanta Sankardev University, vice president Kamal Thakuriya, departmental head Dr Phanindra Kalita, vice president Dharmeshwar Rava, and executive member Gagan Kalita, among others. Their presence added prestige to the event and further encouraged alumni engagement.
Additionally, a new committee was formed for the alumni association of the department. The committee consists of a nine-member executive team, with Kalpajyoti Kalita serving as president and Nabaneel Kalita taking on the role of secretary.
