DIBRUGARH, June 26:
In Dibrugarh, a Volkswagen car (registration number AS-01-F-2234) crashed into a roadside electric post near the Chiring Chapori area on Sunday night. Aditiya Kedia, who was driving the car, collided with the electric post, causing the car to overturn. Fortunately, Aditiya Kedia survived the accident but sustained some injuries.
Local residents are raising concerns about the placement of electric poles, claiming that many accidents occur due to their positioning. They argue that after road expansion, the electric poles cover one-third of the road, and despite the need for their relocation, the negligence of the electric department has prevented their shifting.
In a similar incident on Saturday, a pickup van also hit an electric post on Convey Road, where the poles obstructed one-third of the road.
Residents are urging the relevant department to address the issue and relocate the electric poles. They believe that the current placement of the poles poses a significant danger to the people of Dibrugarh, as accidents continue to occur due to their presence in the middle of the road.
