GUWAHATI, Nov 19: In a landmark move that promises to reshape the future of public safety and healthcare in Cachar, district commissioner Mridul Yadav has led two groundbreaking initiatives aimed at enhancing the lives of local residents. On Monday, DC Yadav unveiled a comprehensive plan to address road safety concerns and healthcare accessibility, setting the stage for a safer and healthier district.

During a high-level meeting of the District Road Safety Committee (DRSC), DC Yadav presented an action-packed roadmap designed to curb road accidents, which will be driven by a dynamic Four Es Strategy: Engineering, Enforcement, Education, and Emergency Response. This strategy includes a thorough audit of accident-prone areas, which will guide infrastructure development and improvements. In a significant step, high-risk zones will see the installation of surveillance cameras for real-time monitoring, and stricter traffic regulations will be enforced to ensure safety.

As part of the road safety initiative, a rapid-response team will be formed to ensure faster emergency handling, and an immediate inspection and repair of the heavily damaged Srikona-Badarpur stretch will prevent further accidents. “These measures are designed not only to reduce accidents but also to save lives across Cachar,” stated DC Yadav, outlining his vision for a safer district.

In the afternoon, DC Yadav visited the Udharbond Block Primary Health Centre (PHC) to assess its facilities and engaged with the medical officer to identify gaps in the district’s healthcare services. His visit highlighted the administration’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and ensure timely medical care for all residents. “We are committed to strengthening the healthcare system in Cachar, providing high-quality services and emergency care to every citizen,” remarked DC Yadav.

With these forward-thinking initiatives, Cachar is poised to become a model district for public safety and healthcare. DC Yadav urged all stakeholders to collaborate in building a safer, healthier future for the community: “Together, let’s pave the way for safer roads and better healthcare for all.”
