MORIGAON, Oct 29: Despite chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s visionary initiative to position the state among India’s top five in development, the dilapidated roads in Kuranibori and Buraburi villages, nestled under Mayong revenue circle, have emerged as perilous paths for commuters. The dire state of these roads poses a severe threat, especially to students attending the primary schools in these areas, navigating through the crumbling roadways.
The road’s deplorable condition has significantly impacted the lives of villagers, particularly during the paddy harvest season. Beyond students, this has become a critical concern for maternity mothers and emergency patients, complicating their access to healthcare facilities, especially during the rainy season. Despite the repeated appeals to the concerned authorities for road construction, no action has been initiated.
The Public Works Department (PWD) appears to be inactive, causing distress among the residents of these three agricultural villages. People’s representatives, political party leaders, and workers in Kuranibari and Buraburi panchayats have seemingly overlooked this pressing issue affecting the two-kilometer stretch of road.
In light of these challenges, the villagers urgently implore the government to take immediate measures in improving the dilapidated two-kilometer road from Nekerahabi Chari Ali to Garumra village to ensure the safety and well-being of the local community.
