NAGAON, July 21: Acting on confidential information, a police team from Nagaon PS apprehended three drug peddlers near Christianpatty on ADP road on Friday. During the operation, the police seized 800 grams of suspected narcotics, resembling heroin, cleverly concealed in 60 soap cases. The estimated value of the confiscated drugs is approximately Rs 5 crore in the market. Sources suggest that the peddlers smuggled the contraband from Dimapur, Nagaland.
The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Hashnu Sheikh, Gulzar Hussain, and Nizam Uddin. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway, according to sources.
This successful operation marks a significant blow to the drug trade in the region and showcases the efforts of the police in combating drug trafficking. The police department continues its vigilance to curb illegal drug activities and maintain law and order in the area.
