Felicitation & motivational speech programme organised in Biswanath College

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Oct 30: A felicitation and motivational speech programme was held in Biswanath College on Sunday where Major Taranveer Singh of 17th Assam Rifles apprised the students of various careers available in defence. Major Singh enlightened the students about joining the defence force through NDA and through technical recruitment windows and also about qualifications and age bar, etc.
The programme was organised by Defence Force Preparatory Academy, a Biswanath Chariali based registered non-government organisation working on training youths for joining defence service. Biswanath College actively collaborated with the Defence Force Preparatory Academy for the greater interest of the students.
Attending the programme as chief guest, Munindra Nath Nagatey, deputy commissioner of Biswanath district shared his success story with the students. He told the students to be punctual, disciplined, dedicated and hardworking to be successful in life.
Earlier, Dr Chinta Mani Sharma, principal, Biswanath College appreciated the noble work being undertaken by the Defence Force Preparatory Academy for the benefit of the youths of the greater Biswanath Chariali area and called upon the students to make the best use of the opportunities made available by the aforesaid academy.
Dr Naresh Thakur, coordinator, IQAC, Biswanath College also spoke on the occasion to inspire the students. Deepika Sharma and Kiran Pradhan who have recently been appointed as sub-inspectors were also felicitated in the programme. Both of them shared their success stories to the students present in the programme. Moreover, several others, namely Bikash Das, Debajit Das, Rohit Goth and Sumi Goth who were students of DFP Academy and who have got appointment as commandos were also felicitated in the meeting.
Dr Dipankar Saikia, coordinator, Career Counselling and Guidance Cell, Biswanath College and Shibashree Hojaisa, member, IQAC, Biswanath College were also present in the programme apart from nearly two hundred students and several guardians.
Karan Thakur, president, DFP Academy offered the vote of thanks while Uddhav Patgiri, secretary, DFP Academy compered the programme.
