DIPHU, Dec 5: The Karbi community mourns the untimely demise of renowned filmmaker, sportsperson, and journalist Pradip Tisso, who passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 55.
Tisso, a multifaceted talent, left an indelible mark on the Karbi film industry with his directorial ventures. His notable works include Mirbin, Hem Amihi, Pilongri Apharman, Kanghon Angrong Ruplinso, and Mr Ding-e. Beyond filmmaking, he also showcased his creative prowess by directing documentaries for various government departments.
His passion extended to the realm of sports, where he was actively involved in Wushu Karate in Karbi Anglong. Tisso’s contributions to the literary world were equally significant, as he served as the former office secretary of the Karbi Lammet Amei, a prominent literary body.
The news of his sudden demise has cast a pall of sorrow over the entire community. Well-wishers and relatives have gathered at his residence in Birla to pay their last respects to the departed soul.
Tisso’s legacy as a versatile artist and dedicated community member will continue to inspire future generations. His mortal remains will be cremated on December 7.
