Four Employees Receive 1 Year Service Extension In Jorhat

JORHAT, Aug 5: Along with the rest of the State, the Lok Kalyan Diwas marking the death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi was observed in a function organised by the Jorhat district administration at the Shree Shree Pitambar Deva Goswami Auditorium of the District Library here on Friday.
The minster for Parliamentary Affairs, Water Resources, Information and Public Relations; Printing and Stationery; Social Justice and Empowerment Pijush Hazarika attended the programme in which four government employees – Biren Bora, Rajen Bora, Arunjyoti Gogoi and Gunjanan Shyam –  were presented Lok Sewa Award for their dedicated service, discipline and integrity.
The award, instituted by the government for non-gazetted officers and employees includes Rs 25,000, extension of service period by a year and a citation.
Earlier, Hazarika paid tribute to the great leader by lighting a lamp before his (Bordoloi) portrait. In his address, the minister spoke about the strong leadership of Bordoloi and his huge contributions to the state. He also stated about series of initiatives undertaken by the government for all-round development of the state.
Mariani MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi, Assam Women’s University VC Dr Ajanta Borgohain Rajkonwar, Satradhikar of Shree Shree Uttar Kamalabari Satra, Majuli, Janardan Deva Goswami, senior district administration officials attended the programme in which the welcome address was delivered by Jorhat deputy commissioner Ashok Kumar Barman.
