MARGHERITA, Dec 3: A free eye check-up and treatment camp took place on Saturday at Tipong Gate, under the jurisdiction of Lekhapani police station in Margherita sub-division. The camp was organised by the Satra Mukti Sangram Samity Tirap Jagun Regional Committee in collaboration with the 23 Assam Rifles Tipong branch.
Approximately 300 individuals from nearby areas availed themselves of the free eye check-up services provided at the camp. Rahul Chetry, the general secretary of the Satra Mukti Sangram Samity Central Committee, mentioned that this initiative aimed to reach people who cannot afford eye-related treatments at hospitals, providing them with the opportunity for a free eye check-up.
The collaboration between the regional committee and the Assam Rifles branch reflects a concerted effort to address healthcare needs within the community, especially targeting those who face financial constraints in accessing medical services. Such initiatives contribute significantly to community welfare by promoting preventive healthcare and early detection of eye-related issues.
