Himanta Biswa Sarma boosts BJP campaign in Patsaku

DEMOW, April 10: With the first phase of the Lok Sabha Poll scheduled for April 19 and only a few days left, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended a ‘Bijoy Sankalpa Samabesh’ and campaigned in Patsaku High School Playground near Demow under Mahmara Constituency on Wednesday for Topon Kumar Gogoi, BJP candidate for Jorhat Lok Sabha Constituency.

Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma paid tribute to the statue of Lachit Borphukan, located in front of the Patsaku High School Playground, and then installed the laikhuta of Patsaku Kendriya Rongali Bihu Sanmilan. Jogen Mohan, Mahmara MLA as well as state revenue minister, delivered the welcome speech. During the ‘Bijoy Sankalpa Samabesh’ program, a couple of Congress workers joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Addressing the gathering, the chief minister expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to visit Patsaku for the election campaign. He appealed to the people to cast their valuable votes for Topon Kumar Gogoi, BJP candidate for Jorhat Lok Sabha Constituency. He recalled the legacy of Mahabir Lachit Borphukan and highlighted the peace and prosperity witnessed by Assam under the leadership of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister. CM Sarma emphasised the achievements of the government, including the creation of government jobs and the resolution of land-related issues through schemes like Mission Basundhara. He also promised further initiatives such as the expansion of the Orunodoi scheme and financial assistance for girls’ education.

Thowra MLA Sushanta Borgohain, state revenue minister Jogen Mohan, Hiranjit Bireswar Deori, Executive Member of Deori Autonomous Council, along with BJP and AGP leaders were also present at the ‘Bijoy Sankalpa Samabesh’.
