NAGAON, Jan 6: The inaugural ceremony of the five-day inter-state youth exchange programme was held on Monday at the Youth Hostel in Paltanbazar, Guwahati.
The program, organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kamrup Metro, Assam was inaugurated by Lok Sabha MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi.
In her inaugural speech, Medhi emphasised the importance of national integration, communal harmony, and brotherhood among the youth. She expressed hope that the programme would foster these values among the participants.
The programme has brought together 27 youth delegates from three districts of Arunachal Pradesh and representatives from various ethnic groups in Assam. The five-day programme will feature educational activities, yoga sessions, field trips, and cultural exchange programmes.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan’s state director, Dinabandhu Saha, and other dignitaries including Ratna Singh Bhardwaj, ward Commissioner of 31 No Ward, Guwahati Municipal corporation Rajib Das, general secretary of Netaji Sangha, social worker Rajshree Bora were present at the inaugural ceremony.
Sayan Suklabaidya, youth officer, Kamrup NYK welcomed the participants and other invited dignitaries in very beginning of the inaugural session while Jiban Ch Doley, accounts and programme supervisor, Kamrup NYK mentored the entire programme, a press note added.
