Ishwari Deka of Tezpur clears UPSC

TEZPUR, April 16: Earnming laurels for the district of Sonitpur, Ishwari Deka from Tezpur has cracked the UPSC examinations securing all India ranking 320, the results of which werereleased on Tuesday.

Ishwari is the daughter of former vice-principal of the Rangapara College, Ranendra Mohan Deka  and Bharati Das, retired principal of Tezpur Government Girls’ Multipurpose Higher Secondary School. She resides with her family at Chitralekha Nagar in Tezpur.

Ishgwari passed her HSLC final examination from the Saint Joseph Convent  High School in Tezpur  with 89 per cent marks and the HS final examination with 97.75 marks  from the Kendriya Vidyalaya. After graduating from the Saint Stephens College in New Delhi she pursued her post graduation in English from the Delhi University.  She had also appeared in the Assam Finance Service Examination, in which she secured the third position.

Unfolding the secret behind her success Ishwari Deka said that she had nurtured a dream, to crack t6he civil service examinations since her school days. After clearing the UPSC preliminary exam, she regularly studied to achieve her goal.

Several organization and local residents congratulated her on her feat. A local resident said, “We wish Ishwari a bright future and hope that through her unfathomable talent she would always dedicate herself for the betterment of the people, thereby reflecting the dignity of the district of Sonitpur and her locality as well.”
