Jorhat Press Club forms new committee

JORHAT, Sept 19: In the annual general meeting held on Monday at the Jorhat Press Club, a 17-member executive committee for the term 2023-25 was unanimously formed by the club’s members. Ashok Kumar Baruah has been elected as the president, and Poromananda Bora will serve as the general secretary.

The newly formed committee comprises Ananta Narayan Borthakur as the working president, Santosh Kabra as vice-president, Biraj Baruah and Sanjib Dutta as joint secretaries, and Dibyajyoti Bora as the treasurer, along with ten other executive members.

The meeting, presided over by Diganta Buragohain, the outgoing president of the previous executive committee, saw the presence of Dr Tapan Dutta, an advisor to the club and a seasoned sports organiser, as well as Niranjan Mahanta, a former president of the club, and several other club members.
