KHERONI, Aug 3: The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) will formally inaugurate a new air-conditioned bus service between Diphu and Guwahati on August 6 to boost public transport connectivity in the hill district.
According to an official statement, the service will be flagged off at 12 noon at the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Diphu’s 5th Mile area by KAAC Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang.
The bus service is expected to provide a safer and more comfortable travel option for students, patients, professionals and daily commuters travelling to Guwahati.
Executive Member in-charge of Transport Bili Mohon Khaglary, Diphu MP Amarsing Tisso, Howraghat MLA Darsing Ronghang, Diphu MLA Bidya Sing Engleng, KAAC Chairman Raju Tisso, Deputy Chairman Avijit Kro and other senior KAAC officials will be present on the occasion.
Passenger amenities including stalls and a canteen will also be inaugurated at the ISBT to improve commuter convenience.
The initiative reflects KAAC’s push towards citizen-oriented services aimed at improving accessibility, transportation and socio-economic linkages between Karbi Anglong and Assam’s capital region.
