GUWAHATI, July 10: The Kamrup district administration has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with North East Transmission Company Limited (NETC) to enhance the Maternal Health Programme and Child Health Care in the district. The MoU entails the procurement of biomedical instruments and equipment for 12 delivery points, including district hospitals, first referral units (FRU), and other delivery points across the district.
The MoU was signed by Keerthi Jalli, deputy commissioner of Kamrup, on behalf of the district administration, and Anil Raghunath Sah, deputy general manager of NETC. The agreement, worth Rs 32,85,100, aims to strengthen the Maternal Health Programme and Child Health Care by facilitating the procurement of biomedical instruments and equipment for government hospitals and other designated facilities.
The agreement will be in effect for six months from the date of the first installment released by NETC, unless terminated earlier as per the provisions outlined in the agreement. It can be extended through mutually agreed amendments.
Kamrup district administration has been proactively encouraging the corporate sector to contribute to the socio-economic development of the district, particularly in the areas of health and education. This partnership with NETC reflects their commitment to enhancing the existing infrastructure and benefiting the economically weaker sections of society.
The deputy commissioner of Kamrup expressed gratitude and appreciation to the officials of NETC for their valuable support in boosting the healthcare sector, particularly maternal and child health care. This CSR initiative by NETC will significantly contribute to the Maternal Health Care and Child Health Care programs in the district.
The signing of the MoU was attended by district development commissioner Kamrup Norshing Bey, assistant commissioner Monika Borgohain, and engineer in-charge (projects) of NETC, Niranjan Rabha.
