DIPHU, Jan 10: In light of the impending visit of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, to Taralangso for the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Karbi Youth Festival (KYF) on January 17, certain events have been relocated to Diphu Sports Complex, Diphu-Manja Road. The decision stems from the directive that no programs will be permitted at Rangsina Sarpo Ahongjai – Rangsina Sarpo Open Stage during this period.
The Golden Jubilee KYF, scheduled from January 12 to 19, is organised by the Karbi Cultural Society (KCS) and the Reception Committee of the KYF golden jubilee celebration. Both entities have taken necessary measures, particularly regarding security, to ensure a smooth and disturbance-free environment during the President’s visit.
To accommodate the security arrangements and maintain the President’s venue free from other events, night programs featuring artists and musical bands have been relocated to Diphu Sports Complex, specifically at 5th Miles Nihang Rongkethe on Diphu-Manja Road. The alternate stage prepared at Diphu Sports Complex is named Lorchoti Ahongjai.
Addressing the press at the KCS Central Committee office in Taralangso, KCS president Chandra Sing Kro said that, as per the security protocols set by Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, no events or programs will take place at Rangsina Sarpo Permanent Open Stage before the President’s arrival from January 12 to 17. The organisers are diligently working to comply with the orders and ensure a successful celebration of the KYF Golden Jubilee.
