GUWAHATI, July 21: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) in Guwahati, known as the gateway to North East India, recently introduced its enhanced passenger Wi-Fi service, marking a significant milestone in elevating the travel experience for both domestic and international travellers. The airport reaffirms its unwavering commitment to providing outstanding services to all its passengers.

Free and unlimited Wi-Fi is now accessible to domestic passengers and visitors at LGBIA. The login process has been simplified, requiring users to input their phone numbers. Upon successful login, users receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on their phones, granting them 2 hours of unrestricted internet access. Additionally, international passengers now have a more convenient option for accessing the internet through Wi-Fi.

To obtain Wi-Fi access, passengers can collect coupons from the ‘May I Help You’ desk or the newly installed Wi-Fi kiosk machine located in the arrival or Security Hold Area, depending on their arrival or departure. The coupons can be easily obtained by scanning their passports and boarding passes on the machine, eliminating the need to visit the ‘May I Help You’ desk and improving overall efficiency. These coupons offer 2 hours of unlimited data usage on the Wi-Fi network.

Safety is of utmost importance to the authorities at LGBIA, and they strictly adhere to all government regulations. The Wi-Fi network is designed to prevent access to restricted sites. The airport’s IT team collaborates closely with Terminal Operations and the Ministry of Communication to ensure that the passenger Wi-Fi service complies with government rules and guidelines.
