MARGHERITA, May 11: Two persons have been arrested and 15 cases of beer cans containing 180 BL were seized in Ledo.

Acting on a tip off, a team of officials from the excise department intercepted a four-wheeler bearing the registration number ‘AS 23 U 9947’ in Ledo in Tinsukia district. They also recovered 15 cases of Tuborg Beer cans, which contains 180 BL(for sale in Arunachal Pradesh only).

The accused have been booked under 53(1)(a) of the Assam Excise Act, 2000. They were produced before the court of the sub-divisional judicial magistrate, who remanded them to judicial custody.
