GUWAHATI, Nov 5: The much-anticipated Assam Japan Gateway 2023 commenced with the esteemed presence of State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA) vice-chairman, Ramen Deka, at Mayfair Spring Valley in Guwahati on Saturday. This event marks the first collaborative platform aimed at unifying Assam and Japan, celebrating shared values, innovations, and opportunities.
Organized by Mirai Japanese Learning Centre, Guwahati, and supported by SITA, Government of Assam, Kotoba Business Consulting Pvt. Limited (KBC), HIJD Inc., and Indobox Inc., the event aspires to bring together diverse industries, fostering new prospects and forging invaluable connections.
During the inauguration, vice-chairman Ramen Deka emphasized the event’s significance in strengthening the bond between Assam and Japan. He outlined the potential of providing a platform for the people of both regions to establish future collaborations, partnerships, and economic ties, creating enduring connections and growth opportunities. Notably, he mentioned the exploration of opportunities for technical exchanges in the thriving tea sector.
The primary focus and key objectives of the Assam Japan Gateway 2023 revolve around mutual development for economic growth, cultural harmony, and socio-economic bonding. This two-day event seeks to unlock opportunities in various sectors, including innovations in Agriculture and Technology, uncovering destinations and services, education, employability, startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The program’s itinerary encompasses cultural fusion, business exploration, panel discussions, Buyer-Seller Meets, product launches and exhibitions, culinary delights, workshops, demonstrations, and tourism showcases.
The inaugural session witnessed the presence of distinguished personalities such as Tashi Ariyosai, deputy chief of mission at the Japan Embassy to India, Yoshida Koji, Counsellor of PR and Culture, alongside officials from SITA and Mirai.
