GUWAHATI, April 27: The North Kamrup District Other Backward Classes (OBC) Association on Sunday organised a heartfelt memorial meeting in honor of its recently deceased secretary, Hemen Nath. The event was held at the conference hall of the Public Works Department (PWD) office in Amingaon.
The meeting was presided over by Basanta Kumar, President of the North Kamrup District OBC Association. To commence the ceremony, President Kumar lit a ceremonial lamp before a portrait of the late Hemen Nath, followed by floral tributes offered by Jayanta Kumar Nath, Vice-Chairman of the Kamrup District OBC Board.
Addressing the gathering, Niranjan Patowary, Chairman of the Kamrup District OBC Board, paid homage to Hemen Nath’s contributions and reflected on his life’s journey and tireless work for the community.
Throughout the meeting, several association officials, including Basanta Kumar, Jayanta Kumar Nath, Yadav Das, Kamala Das, Mahendra Nath, and Ganesh Das, shared personal memories and highlighted the significant impact that Hemen Nath had on the organization and the wider community.
The proceedings were conducted by Kaushik Das, Assistant Secretary of the North Kamrup District OBC Association.
The event was attended by a host of dignitaries and members, including Ranjan Dutta, Napur Das, Khargeswar Nath, Jehurul Ali, Hemen Saikia, Parag Das, among others, who came together to pay their respects and celebrate the enduring legacy of the late Hemen Nath.
