MARGHERITA, Jan 24: A memorial meeting of Late King Bisa Nong Singpho was held on Friday at Tribal rest house, Margherita which was organised by Tirap Autonomous District Council Demand Committee and Singpho National Council.

Bisa Nong Singpho was the Mauzadar of Tirap Mouza died due to prolonged illness on January 15 at his own residence located at Bisa Gaon, Ledo under Margherita Co-District.

 He was cremated on January 17 with state honour.

The memorial meeting begins with lighting of earthen lamp before the portrait of King Bisa Nong Singpho by Sengram Lebram where Matiur Rehman served floral tribute.

Pallab Shyam Wailung delivered the aims and objectives of the memorial meeting.

The memorial meeting was presided by Sengram Lebram, president of Singpho National Council where Tirap Autonomous District Council  Demand Committee president Rajkumar Bisa Mung Dung Singpho among others were present and paid rich tribute to the departed soul.

Asom Sanmilito Mahasangha working president Matiur Rehman presented a condolence letter to Rajkumar Bisa Mung Dung Singpho elder son of King Bisa Nong Singpho.

All the present distinguished and resource persons spoke about the life of King Bisa Nong Singpho whose immense contribution towards tribal people and greater Assamese society of Margherita Co-District region cannot be counted.
