MORIGAON, March 5: State health minister and guardian minister of Morigaon, Keshab Mahanta on Tuesday inaugurated 137 schemes implemented by 13 departments under the ‘Vikas Yatra’ programme at the Tarun Ram Phukan Ground in Morigaon .
While inaugurating the schemes the minister said that he has seen many journeys in his life, but this is the first time he has seen the journey of development. He said a 50-bedded critical care unit hospital in Morigaon and a 50-bedded Ayurvedic hospital in Mikirbheta in the district would be set up at a cost of Rs 615 crore. Earlier MLA Ramakanta Deuri spoke on the ‘ Vikas Yatra’ at length.
On the other hand, in connection with the election purpose the minister said that the AIUDF and Congress will contest against the BJP in the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency, but the main battle will be between the BJP and the AIDUF, he said. The programme also attended by Morigaon district commissioner Debashis Sarma, superintendent of police Hemanta Kr. Das. And CEO Lakhinandan Soharia.
