GOSSAIGAON, Nov 28: MLA Rabiram Narzary of the 29th Kokrajhar (ST) constituency of the Assam Legislative Assembly on Wednesday visited six proposed bridge construction sites in the Gossaigaon sub-division of his constituency. These bridges, to be funded by the World Bank, are aimed at addressing long-standing connectivity issues, he said.
During his visit to the construction site of the Mora Jayma River bridge at Guwabari-Gossaigaon, MLA Narzary stated that the support and cooperation of chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma have been instrumental in implementing numerous development projects, including roads and bridges, across the constituency.
He further mentioned that, apart from the Mora Jayma River bridge, bridges over the Madati River (connecting Babubil and Lalu Basti), Gurufela River (connecting Ahmedpur and Hangsabill), and others at Bhunka Rabha Basti, Phulkumari, Gendabill, and Tajpur-Banglabari, will soon be constructed. These bridges will significantly ease transportation for students, patients, traders, and the general public, resolving long-standing issues in these areas. He urged departmental engineers to complete the initial surveys promptly and start the construction work as soon as possible.
MLA Narzary was accompanied by BTC Guma constituency MCLA Rohindra Brahma, BPF leader from Guma constituency Bokwar Ali, and several party leaders and workers.
