Morigaon Zila Brahman Samaj honours meritorious students

MORIGAON, Aug 3: The Morigaon Zila Brahman Samaj on Sunday felicitated five meritorious students who excelled in the HSLC and HS examinations at a function held at Morigaon Sewa Ashram and Atithisala here.

The event was organised by the Morigaon Nagar Prathamik Brahman Samaj.

The programme began with the hoisting of the flag by MZBS president Ruhit Goswami, followed by smriti-tarpan performed by vice-president Jatin Sarma.

Bharat Sarma lit the ceremonial lamp.

A chorus composed by writer Pradeep Parasar and rendered by women of the Sewa Ashram committee marked the cultural start of the proceedings.

Dr Namrata Kasyap presented a Borgeet, while another devotional number was performed by the women’s group.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by writer Parasar, MASS chief advisor Bubumoni Goswami, social worker Pulin Sarma, and other members of the samaj.
