GUWAHATI, Dec 8: On Wednesday, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between USTM and the Heart Care Society of Assam at the office of the vice-chancellor, USTM campus at 9th Mile to create a framework for collaboration between USTM and HCSA for the cause of heart care.
The MOU was signed by Dr Nirmal Kanti Bhattacharjee, president, HCSA on behalf of the Heart Care Society of Assam and Prof GD Sharma, the vice- chancellor of USTM, on behalf of USTM.
The other members present in the event were Ikramul Mazid, vice-president, Debashis Banerjee, secretary, Gopal Sharma, the treasurer, Nilakshi Goswami Baruah, secretary- Women Forum, Tapash Ranjan Chowdhuri, Dr Sikha Bezbaruah Goswami, Dr Rakesh Periwal, Dr Moitreyee Baruah, Madhumita Roy- executive members- on behalf of the HCSA and Dr Balendra Kumar Das, pro vice-chancellor and Anju Hazarika, registrar- on behalf of USTM. It is felt that this collaboration shall go a long way to make heart care a community movement in this part of the country with far reaching implications.
