TEZPUR, Aug 18: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has partnered with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) to unveil a remarkable initiative – the commencement of 100 Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs) targeting aspiring women entrepreneurs all across the nation. In line with this, a comprehensive Entrepreneurship Development Awareness Programme was conducted at Bhalukpong, situated along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in the Sonitpur district.

Fifty-six promising women entrepreneurs from the region participated in this one-day EAP, which was designed with a twofold aim: to familiarise the participants with the myriad benefits of embracing entrepreneurship as a career path and to equip them with the essential skills to overcome socio-economic and familial challenges that often deter women from pursuing entrepreneurial ventures. These EAPs are strategically structured to nurture entrepreneurial prowess among women, enabling them to acquire the knowledge, skills, and determination required to establish their own businesses.

The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony, followed by engaging sessions and enlightening panel discussions. Experts deliberated on a diverse range of subjects including the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, recognising viable business prospects, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, devising strategies to surmount the common obstacles faced by women entrepreneurs, addressing gender-specific issues and challenges, and elucidating government schemes and policies tailored for women business proprietors.
