DALGAON, Oct 17: Nejib Ahmed, a wildlife photographer and wildlife conservationist from Dalgaon was
conferred the ‘Wildlife Photographer of the year 2023’at London in the UK. which was organized by
Natural History Museum.
Nejib became the first Assamese to win this prestigious award. The 59thedition of the Worldwide
Wildlife Photography was held at London this year. He was recognized as one of the most influential
photographer.
According to sources, one of his photos was highly recommended for photo journalism. He has been
selected for the award amongst 50,000 participants from 100 countries, who took part in the wildlife
photography competition.
Interacting with the media at his residence, Nejib said, “I have been working in the field of wildlife
conservation for the last 15 years.”
He was awarded best photographer of the years in 2018 and 2019, organized by the Assam Photography
Club and Assam Photography Society respectively. Furthermore, National Geography and BBC Wildlife
have also published his photos in their magazines. He had also contributed to Outlook, Saivas India,
Century Asia and many other magazines.
He also instituted Wild Wings, an NGO in collaboration with Pradipta Barua, divisional forest officer of
the Orang National Park to conserve the wildlife.
