SIVASAGAR, July 16: Premier educational institution New Look Academy organised a seminar on Tuesday on the importance of commerce education in today’s world. Speaking on the subject, Dr Ratul Sarmah, vice-principal of Sibsagar Commerce College, underscored the various aspects of commerce education and its key features. He elaborated on public finance, GST, regulatory bodies in the Indian financial world, the role of the RBI, and the laws safeguarding the interests of investors and shareholders in India. In simple language, Dr Sarmah explained how a student can pursue courses like chartered accountancy and company secretary in the interactive session.
Manoj Kr Borthakur, another speaker, highlighted that distinguished personalities like Maniram Dewan, Lakshminath Bezbaruah, Bholanath Boruah, and Jagannath Baruah had demonstrated that through commerce, one can earn for their family and contribute significantly to society. Srimanta Borthakur, principal of the Academy, thanked the speakers for enlightening the young minds and helping them in their educational pursuits. The seminar was attended by over a hundred secondary section students.
