NSS Units Of Nowgong College Collect 65 Kg Single-Use Plastic

NAGAON, Oct 19: 
The NSS units no 1 and 2 of historic Nowgong College (autonomous) organised an awareness drive in various locations especially marketplaces in and around the small town. They have been collecting single-use plastic garbage and have been recycling the same since October 1, as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiated by the government of India.

Over 150 students of both the NSS units led by Dr Sarat Borkatoki, principal of the college as well as the programme officers of the NSS units – Prof Bhuban Chandra Chetia and Prof Manash jyoti Nirmolia conducted a drive to collect single-use plastic bags and other garbage in and around the college premises on Wednesday.

During the drive, the NSS units collected over 65 kg of single-use plastic and handed it over to Nagaon Municipality Board for recycling, a release issued by the college added.
