OIL commences Vigilance Awareness Week 2023

GUWAHATI, Oct 30: Oil India Limited (OIL) has kickstarted the Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) 2023, a dedicated campaign running from October 30 to November 5, 2023. The week commenced with a commitment to integrity at the Duliajan Club Auditorium, echoing the theme ‘Say No to corruption; Commit to the nation.’ This annual observance aims to reinforce the principles of honesty and integrity across the spectrum of business and personal transactions for Oil Indians, their families, and stakeholders.

The inauguration of VAW 2023 at the Duliajan Club auditorium was marked by Atindra Roychoudhury, Resident Chief Executive (RCE) of OIL, along with other company officials. In his inaugural speech, Atindra Roychoudhury urged the audience to prioritize vigilance and acquaint themselves with the procedures, manuals, and compliance standards stipulated by OIL’s Vigilance Department.

Underlining the significance of vigilance, Akhil Kumar Deka, General Manager (Vigilance), OIL, stressed in his address the pivotal role of the Vigilance department in the ongoing battle against corruption, both at the national and individual levels. He called for collective efforts toward making OIL a benchmark in vigilance practices.

As part of the VAW 2023 program, an integrity pledge was administered to all Oil Indians, followed by a cycle rally flagged off by RCE, OIL. The rally aimed to promote awareness against corruption and advocate for honesty and integrity in everyday life.

OIL’s public awareness initiatives involve banners and hoardings in OIL Township, Duliajan, field installations of FHQ, Dibrugarh Airport, and a radio jingle broadcasted through All India Radio, Dibrugarh. The display will feature the VAW theme and a QR code facilitating e-Integrity pledges.

The week-long campaign includes a series of activities aiming to involve various sections of society and stakeholders. These comprise competitions for students, street plays, Gram Sabhas, online quizzes and competitions, seminars, workshops, and grievance redressal programs for vendors.

Through these multifaceted initiatives, OIL endeavors to instill a culture of vigilance and integrity, urging collective efforts to combat and prevent corruption while fostering ethical and transparent practices within and beyond its organizational boundaries.
