SIVASAGAR, Feb 28: Chatra Mukti Sangram Samiti and Krishak Adhikar Sangram Samiti opposed the recent move of the state government to amalgamate colleges with less than 500 enrollments with nearby colleges. The government summoned 79 college principals and GB presidents and suggested measures to this effect.
The organisation’s spokesmen condemned chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Education minister Dr Ranoj Pegu for allegedly collaborating with business tycoons to establish private educational institutions while ruining colleges founded by rural people.
