Orientation programme for teachers held

TEZPUR, October 17: Orientation programme for all school heads were organized at the Rangapara
College and Chariduar Simanta Milan Sangha in Sonitpur district.
The orientation programme that took place under the Balipara Education Block on October 12 and 16,
were organiozed as part of the Sonitpur district education department’s preparation for the 2024
Gunotsav, which is slated to take place from January 9 to 12 next year.
In the first round of the orientation programme held on October 12 at Rangapara College, principal of
the college, Ranjan Kalita, faculty member Prashanta Boro, district programme officer, Binumoni
Hazarika, Balipara block elementary education officer Manish Thakur, MIS Shajadul Hussain, CRCC Bijit

Saikia, Keshab Barman, Biswajyoti Baruah, Khagen Kalita, Rajib Das, Dhrubajyoti Nath and Manim
Hazowari were present in the programme to interact with the school heads.
During the occasion, BEEO Manish Thakur highlighted last year’s performance of the schools and
appealed to the schools with poor performance to take necessary measures for the improvement in
their areas concerned, basically in the academic area.
Highlighting the need for a database on the on-going scenario of the academic performance of the
schools under the block with reference to the last years’ performance Thakur mentrioned that In 2023
Gunotsav out of the 385 schools under Balipara block, 93 got A+ grade, 174 got A grade, 78 got B grade,
30 got C grade and 10 got D grade.
“Although due to the merger process some schools have been attached with other schools in 2024
Gunotsav, nearly all the above mentioned number of schools will take part in the evaluation process,”
hea said.
Prashanta Boro highlighted certain key points of NEP-2020 connected with the Gunotsav.
