BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 2: Manab Hazarika, a resident of Sootea and a first-class contractor of the Assam Public Health Engineering Department (Road) and PWD (Home), has been recognised as the best contractor by the department under the jurisdiction of the sub-divisional office of the PHE, Biswanath. Manab, who secured the contract for the construction work of water supply at Kachari part 2 of Selaikhati in the northwestern part of Biswanath with an amount of Rs 20 lakhs, 35 thousand, and 23 rupees under the Jal Jeevan Mission, accomplished his contract work within 6 months and provided water to 180 families with home connections.
The sub-divisional office of the Assam Public Health Engineering Department, Biswanath, organised a felicitation program in the office premises on Sunday and honoured Manab Hazarika with a citation, gamosa, and recognition as the best contractor.
Biswanath MLA Pramod Borthakur and the officials of the department accorded him the felicitation. The event was attended by officials, contractors, and office bearers.
