TEZPUR, Sept 19: The Pradhan Mantri Amrit Sarovar was inaugurated at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Napam, Sonitpur by Tezpur MLA Prithiraj Rabha, deputy commissioner of Sonitpur Deba Kr. Mishra, and others on Saturday followed by the inauguration programme of Poshan Abhiyan 2022-23 with a view to create awareness about the significance of nutrition in the economic and social development of an individual and the country. The programme was inaugurated by Angana Sarmah, in-charge head of KVK Sonitpur. Dr. Arifa Momtaz Begum, junior extension specialist, director of Extension Education, Assam Agricultural University, Shayan Deuri, programme manager and care, Tezpur University was present as resource person in the programme.
The objective of the programme was briefed by Pompy Bora, programme assistant. Dr. Ranjit Bordoloi SMS (Fisheries Sc.) and Dr. Namita Dutta, SMS (Soil Sc.) and other staff of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sonitpur were also present. A total of 102 Anganwadi workers participated in the programme and 100 numbers of seed packets provided by IFFCO and 102 numbers of fruit saplings provided by KVK Sonitpur were also distributed amongst them.
